Professional power amplifiers

A-series power amplifiers deliver 500 W to 3000 W per channel at 8 Ohm, in two, four and six-channel formats. Switching-mode supplies, road-proof chassis and full protection on every channel: predictable output, night after night.

Power with headroom

The A-series spans two to six channels: A23 at 2×3000 W, A42 at 4×2000 W, A4 at 4×1600 W, A41 at 4×1000 W and A6 at 6×500 W, all into 8 Ohm. Switching-mode power supplies with active power factor correction keep the rack light, cool and efficient when the program gets dense.

Protected on every channel

Thermal, short-circuit and DC protection per channel, temperature-controlled variable fan cooling and a road-proof chassis. 32 dB gain across the whole range, 3-pin XLR in and 4-pole speakON out, so racks stay interchangeable.

Touring and installation

The processing sits in front of the amplifier: a P-series processor holds the factory preset for every Quint cabinet and feeds each amplifier channel its own filtered, limited signal. One A42 drives tops on two channels and subwoofers on the other two — a monitor rig one day, a distributed install the next, still matched.

The driver only does what the preset allows.
FAQ

Common questions

How much amplifier power does a speaker need?

Enough for the program plus headroom, then limited correctly. The factory preset in the P-series processor sets what each cabinet can take, so the limiter, not the voice coil, is what stops it.

How efficient are the A-series amplifiers?

Switching-mode power supplies with active power factor correction and a high-efficiency output stage keep working temperature low. Cooling is a temperature-controlled variable fan, so the rack is quiet until the program actually asks for it.

Do A-series amplifiers have DSP on board?

No. The A-series are power amplifiers. All loudspeaker processing — crossover, EQ, delay and limiting — lives in a P-series processor, which carries a factory preset for every Quint cabinet. Amplifier and processor are specified together.

Can I drive different Quint cabinets from one amplifier?

Yes. A four-channel A42 drives tops on two channels and subwoofers on the other two; each channel takes its own processed feed from a P5 or P9.
